Last visit to Valley Home...

This was our LAST visit to Valley Home for the year.  We had so much fun making our project and giving them cards that we had made especially for them.  We got to visit and see their room and exchange addresses.  I REALLY hope that my third grade friends can visit their residents over the summer or write them a letter.  It was one of the BEST things that we did in third grade.  THANKS for all the help throughout the year.  A special thanks to Mrs. Benson.  We couldn't do it without her!  Valley Home Rocks...

Kids in the Community Day...

Autumn was helping Blake to better understand his book on the state of Kansas.  She did an awesome job of helping.

Alaina was working with Kemper on his state report.  She helped him to find some great information for his report.

Autumn and Alaina got a special "birthday" treat from Lynsie.  While they were eating, we asked them A LOT of questions!!!  THANKS for helping us.  You were both so sweet and kind.

Miss Northwest, Bailey Sorvig

Miss Northwest, Bailey Sorvig came for Prowler Pride this week at Challenger.  She did an AMAZING job on talking to our students about friendships.  She gave so many wonderful examples of how important friendships are and how just one act of kindness can change so many things in one's own life.  She was a great role model to them.  She was so beautiful, too!!!

We took a picture with Miss Northwest.  We wish her luck in the Miss Minnesota pageant in June.

Of course, we had to take a silly one, too!
THANKS for coming, Bailey.

Student of the Week...

This week's Student of the Week is Libby Borg.  Libby lives in the country with her parents, one sister, and lots of pets.  She just LOVES the animals...  Some of her favorites are the color green, penguins, steak, Geronimo Stilton books, football, math, playing games, and playing her PS3.  She loves to help other people and also loves to help with her pets.  Three things you may not know about Libby are that she loves to read comics, knows all the Marble and DC characters, and is named after her grandmas, Libby and Joyce.  When she grows up she wants to be a cop or trapeze artist.  Thanks for doing an AMAZING job, Libby!!!

Cinco De Mayo...

Tuesday was Cinco De Mayo Day at Challenger in the Cafe.  The students got their picture taken after lunch.  They LOVED the decorations and the menu...

A "real" deer skull...

Tyler shared his deer skull for Student of the Week.  He got it from his neighbor.  Story is that the neighbor's dog found it and brought it to the house.  We spent a lot of time observing its characteristics and noticing many interesting things about it.  We are thinking that A LOT happens in nature...

Butterfly Quotes...

This is just one of the quotes that we will discuss and respond to in our Poetry Anthology Books.   My hope is that my students will learn to take chances and listen to that right voice inside that has helped to make them who they are today.
