Friendship matters...

Carli lost a very, very special cousin named Blake.  He had a terrible accident at the shop while he was working on his truck.   He got hurt really bad and wasn't able to live. We wanted to do something special for our friend, Carli.  This was Carli's locker the morning that she came back to school.  It was full from top to bottom!!!  I knew that the students were making her cards and putting them in an envelope in her desk.  I had decided to put a little gift in her locker that morning too and this is what I saw.  Some of her friends had taped notes, pictures, etc. in her locker.  She was so thankful for them.  We wanted her to feel loved by her friends and cheer her up.  We care a lot about her!!!

Prowler Boys Basketball...

The captains (Jacob, Jordy, and Jacob) of the Prowler Boys Basketball Team came for Prowler Pride last Friday.  They talked to us about their basketball team, record, their hardest and easiest teams to play, their classes at Lincoln High School, and what their future plans are after graduation.  They are really good students and in many, many other activities.  They are very FUNNY, too.  We asked them a lot of questions.  We wished them "Good Luck" on their games.  GO PROWLERS...

Prowler Girls Basketball...

Coach Loe and the captains (Madison, Brooke, and Courtney) of the Girls Basketball Team came to Challenger today to talk to us about Prowler Pride.  They shared things about school, teamwork, and the success of the team right now.  They did an AMAZING job of teaching the students about how to be PROUD of being a PROWLER and that being a part of something is so important.  They were just great role models today!  By the way, Madison Brekke was a third grader in my classroom and she was taller than me by the end of third grade!!!  YIKES...
We asked so many great questions today.  I bet that Coach Loe was very impressed!

Coach Loe took a picture of our class, Ms. Johnson's class, and the girls!  LOOK at all of the Prowler Pride in this room!!!

A Very Special Guest Reader...

Fabian Tunberg shared The Polar Express with our class the day before Christmas break.  He did an AWESOME job reading this book and helped pass out special bells to all those that believed in Santa Claus.  It was a great time.  He was in Mrs. Helling's third grade a few years ago.  He is going to college to become a teacher and a coach.  YEAH!!!

Student of the Week...

This week's Student of the Week is Bell Hamre.  She has an almost 3 year old sister named Charleigh and a dog named Jazzie.  Some of her favorites are the color blue, dogs, stroganoff, Little House on the Prairie books, hockey, math, and playing outside.  When she grows up, she wants to be a wild baby animal rehabilitator.  Some cool facts about her are that she was born in Brainerd, likes to fish and play hockey on the river at the same time, and lost 11 teeth already!!!  Bell is a "real" star... because she is a good friend to others and a great big sister.

This is Bell and her sister, Charleigh.  They ate lunch together at school.

Bell shared her "Read All About Me" poster before Christmas break.
